Overview:

Erin was engaged by the Bruniges Fellowship—backed by the University of Technology Sydney’s Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion and the Paul Ramsay Foundation—to develop a cohesive visual approach for communicating research on educational equity in Australian schools.

The project focused on shaping a presentation and dissemination strategy that could clearly articulate complex research while supporting both live delivery and standalone communication.

Challenge:

The Fellowship was working with rich, multi-layered research exploring educational disadvantage in Australian schools.

The material needed to be communicated clearly to a range of audiences, while maintaining its depth and nuance. The challenge was not only to design a presentation, but to structure and clarify the content itself—establishing a clear narrative, defining key messages, and ensuring that the material could be understood both in presentation and independently.

Approach:

Erin worked closely with the Fellowship team to structure their material, helping to parse complex content and identify key messages. This process involved refining the content hierarchy and shaping a clear visual narrative that could guide audiences through the material.

A cohesive visual system was developed across typography, colour and layout, establishing consistency and clarity throughout the presentation. Particular attention was given to visual navigation, enabling audiences to follow complex ideas more easily.

• A visual strategy supporting both live and standalone use

• Styled graphs and charts aligned with the overall visual approach

• A style guide to support consistency and ongoing use

Outcomes:

The project resulted in a clear and cohesive presentation system that enabled the Fellowship to communicate its research with clarity and confidence.

Beyond the visual outputs, the process supported the team to streamline and refine their content, strengthening the articulation of key ideas and messages. The resulting materials function as both presentation tools and standalone communication resources, amplifying the Fellowship’s work on improving educational equity.
